Your Safety is Very Important to Us

Drysdale-Eye-Center-your-safety-1

To meet the needs and protect the safety of our patients, clinicians, staff and the communities we serve, we are continuing to make adjustments to how we provide care during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Our website will continue to be updated regularly.

INCREASED SAFETY MEASURES

In order to provide care in the safest and most effective manner, we have been and will continue to take the following CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:

  • We ask that all patients wear a mask or facial covering when on the premises

  • Patients only - NO VISITORS OR ATTENDANTS (see lobby photo below)

  • Patients with respiratory symptoms (SORE THROAT, COUGH, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, FEVER), or TRAVEL to areas of outbreak, within the past TWO WEEKS, or exposure to others who meet these criteria, must RESCHEDULE and should be staying home anyway.

  • Except in case of emergency, patients who need ASSISTANCE from an attendant, or a wheelchair, must RESCHEDULE. We simply cannot assure an adequately safe environment for them. Those needing a walker are also recommended to RESCHEDULE. Effectively sanitizing such equipment is difficult and causes unnecessary risk to the patient and others.

  • We have ALCOHOL HANDRINSE at the door. Please use it immediately upon arrival.

  • We require HAND WASHING after check-in.

  • We have a NO TOUCH policy after hand washing. Avoid touching all surfaces.

  • Keep at least ARMS LENGTH from others when speaking.

  • Seating has been reconfigured to maintain SPACE BETWEEN PATIENTS.

  • CONVERSATION is discouraged because simply talking can spread the virus, especially in close quarters.

For patient safety, and to minimize the potential of virus exposure for our patients, staff and clinicians, we are screening all patients via phone before scheduling any appointments. If you are not feeling well, please call to RESCHEDULE your appointment.

COVID-19 PREVENTION RECOMMENDATIONS

We advise:

  • Wash hands frequently.

  • Use alcohol hand rinse before and after touching any surface.

  • Keep at least arms length from others. 6 feet is best.

  • Avoid talking in close quarters.

  • Cover your mouth with your elbow if you must cough or sneeze.

  • Stay home if you are not feeling well, but especially if you are sick with a sore throat, recent cough, shortness of breath, or chills/fever.

This coronavirus hangs in the air after speaking, especially after coughing or sneezing. It stays on surfaces for 2 to 3 hours, but dies on contact with soap, alcohol, and antiseptic wipes.

FLU AND RESPIRATORY ILLNESS PREVENTION GUIDELINES:

We advise you ALWAYS follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Stay home when you are not feeling well.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow.

  • Wash your hands often, using either soap and water (20 seconds) or alcohol hand gel.

Drysdale Eye Center will continue to focus on how we can care for you and the communities we serve in the most effective and safest manner. During this unprecedented time, we will continue to send you important updates via our website and social media.
